What is the maximum score possible on the OWPS calculator?+

The absolute maximum possible score under the 2026 OWPS scoring matrix is 130 points. Competitive cut-off scores typically range from 65 to 88 points depending on NOC category draws.

How are regional points awarded in Ontario?+

Jobs located in Northern Ontario receive the maximum 15 regional points. Jobs in Eastern, Central (outside GTA), and Southwestern Ontario receive 10 points. Jobs in the GTA outside Toronto receive 5 points, while jobs in the City of Toronto receive 0 points.

How do self-employed physicians calculate their score under OWPS?+

Self-employed general practice and specialist physicians billing OHIP follow an alternate scoring allocation where hourly wage factors are excluded, and points are instead weighted on OHIP practice location and Canadian medical licensing.

Do I need a Job Offer to apply under OWPS?+

Yes, for the TEER 0-3 and TEER 4-5 pathways under OWPS, an eligible job offer from an approved Ontario employer is mandatory.
