Q1.What is the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream (OWPS)?
The Ontario Workforce Priority Stream (OWPS) is the consolidated permanent residency (PR) pathway under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). It replaced legacy streams in 2026 to streamline scoring under a single 130-point matrix.
Q2.How many points can I score maximum under OWPS?
Job-offer candidates in TEER 0, 1, 2, 3 and TEER 4 & 5 pathways can score up to 130 points maximum. Self-employed physician candidates can score up to 115 points maximum.
Q3.How are Regionalization Points awarded in Ontario?
Points are awarded based on your job offer location or practice address: Northern Ontario = 15 Points (Max); Eastern, Southwestern, and Central Ontario (outside GTA) = 10 Points; GTA (Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, etc.) = 5 Points; City of Toronto = 0 Points.
Q4.What is the minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score required?
For TEER 0, 1, 2, 3 job offer streams, a minimum of CLB 6 is required (CLB 5 for skilled trades). For TEER 4 & 5 essential occupations, a minimum of CLB 4 is required.
Q5.Do I get extra points for knowing both English and French?
Yes! If you demonstrate language proficiency in both English and French at CLB / NCLC 6 or higher in all four language abilities, you earn +10 bonus points.
Q6.How often are OINP draws held and what are the minimum cut-offs?
OINP invitation rounds are held periodically throughout the year. Cut-off scores vary by pathway and targeted occupation sector (e.g. Healthcare, Skilled Trades, Tech, Graduate streams). You can track live past cut-offs on our Draw History page.
